We were thrilled to see such great new talent represented in this category. The shortlist showcases 5 outstanding young women working in very different areas of animation, all excelling and all making fantastic progress in their career – the jury salutes you all. Lisa Mae Evans, working in Look development at Blue Zoo was highly commended for creative talent and also for her mentoring work and ability to share her craft. It’s one thing to brilliant, another to articulate how brilliance is achieved! This year’s Lamb award goes to Hodan Abdi, production co-ordinator at Illuminated Films. Production expertise is precious and not often specifically celebrated. Hodan’s progression from being a graduate of the MAMA Youth Project to a key role in a busy production company, not only keeping projects on track but also driving social media and co-producing Skwigly’s Visible in Visual D&I podcasts on the side deserves a big celebration – congratulations.
